Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) selected three representatives to attend the Netherlands Bicycle Transportation Study Project. These transportation and land use leaders will share their experiences with you at this public meeting.

Panelists include Sam Liccardo, San José Downtown Council Member; Manuel Pineda, Acting Deputy Director of San José Department of Transportation; and Shiloh Ballard, Vice President, Housing & Community Development at Silicon Valley Leadership Group. SVBC Executive Director, Corinne Winter, will moderate.

Learn how various land use and transportation strategies are being employed in the cities of: Utrecht, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague.

Editorial: Europeans have a completely different view of bicycle transportation, and transportation in general, compared to the U.S. America has a deeply passionate love affair with the car. European cities are compact, while U.S. cities sprawl. These factors weigh heavily against bike transportation in San Jose.
