This new sign on Altamont Road in Los Altos Hills sends the right message.
It’s a good sign when a city government acknowledges the error of its ways and takes the advice of the cycling community, as is true for Los Altos Hills.
After input from cyclists, some goofy signs on Altamont Road and Page Mill Road were either removed or replaced with the one you see here. The old signs didn’t send the right message.
Yes, this descent on Altamont can be tricky, especially when taken at high speed, although it also holds true when driving a car. Slow down.
